The European Members' Meeting of the Global CCS Institute took place in Bergen, Norway on 8 May 2012 in conjunction with the launch on 7 May of the Mongstad CCS Test Centre (TCM) and a seminar on "The Status of Carbon Capture Technologies" which the Institute co-hosted together with Gassnova SF and the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme.

Today saw the opening of the world’s largest facility for testing, developing and improving carbon capture technologies – the CO2 Technology Centre at Mongstad (TCM) in Norway – a joint venture between the Norwegian Government (represented by Gassnova), Statoil, Shell and Sasol. Representatives from the Global CCS Institute, including CEO Brad Page, were among the 250 people who attended the inauguration ceremony, hosted by the Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.
