Lewis Gillies is the CEO of 2Co Energy, one of the project proponents of the Don Valley carbon capture and storage (CCS) project. The project is a member of the European CCS Demonstration Project Network, a community of projects dedicated to knowledge sharing in order to accelerate the deployment of safe, large-scale and commercially viable CCS projects. In this short interview Lewis offers his personal views on the development of the project within the UK and the wider outlook within Europe.

On the 22 May 2013 the European CCS Demonstration Project Network held a Communication and Engagement Workshop. The workshop convened a number of international project experts to discuss, from a project proponent’s point of view, the key elements facing the deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) as a critical low-carbon technology.
